You can also bring  things you’ve sewn recently for Sew and Tell. We love seeing what you’ve been sewing at home!

I wish I had more pictures to share! I’m especially sorry to those who brought in a sewing project and I didn’t get a photo of your project. Please feel free to bring it back in, so I can take a photo for the blog!! I need to be better about taking lots and lots of photos from now on.

Next month, we will learn to make the Patience Corner quilt block. Our meeting will be on May 6.

Our Block of the month block is the Shoo fly block and you can find the photo tutorial for it and all the blocks on the BOM page.

We will have Sew and Tell, so make sure to bring in your projects! We all love seeing them.

And be sure to get outside and enjoy the sunny weather 🙂

Heart Blocks for February

At our February meeting, we made heart blocks and it seemed like everyone enjoyed it. We ran out of fabric kits. For the next meeting, I’ll need to prepare more kits for sure!

Here are some photos from our meeting:

Feb meeting heart blocks

Remember to use the online tutorial here to create new blocks to bring for the Block of the Month Club!

Wouldn’t it be fun to take home a set of heart blocks made by our guild members!? What a cute quilt the heart blocks would make! To enter the drawing, all you need to do is sew a new heart block at home with your own fabric and bring it to the March meeting on March 4.

Next time we meet (in March), we will learn to make a Bow Tie Block.

Until then, happy sewing!

February Meeting

Our February meeting will be Feb. 5. We will use the same technique that we used for our snowball blocks to create heart blocks! Meeting starts at 3:30pm, but don’t worry if you’re a little late. We know all the schools get out at different times and we would rather you come a little late then not at all 🙂

Block of the Month Activity

Remember to make and bring in a snowball block if you would like to participate. Find the photo tutorial here: https://willamettepiecemakersblog.files.wordpress.com/2016/01/snowball-quilt-block.pdf

Snowball blocks can make some very cool designs when using different colors. You can see some of the examples on the pinterest board I have going. I’m pinning tutorials and quilt designs that I think will interest you. Check it out: https://www.pinterest.com/erinhpinterest/youth-quilt-guild/

Sew & Tell

Remember you can bring in a sewing project that you’ve created. You don’t have to, but it’s so fun to see everyone’s projects! It inspires us all to keep creating 🙂

Until we meet…

Happy Sewing!

January Meeting

Our January meeting will be January 8th, with 3:15-3:30 social time and the meeting will begin at 3:30.

Our block activity for January’s meeting will be a snowball block.

I am busy creating and choosing the rest of blocks for our block of the month activity and will have a handout for you to take home. This handout will explain all about the block of the month activity, since it’s an at-home activity.

I hope to update that page as soon as I can. It’s been a very busy season this year!

I hope you are all enjoying your holiday season!

Welcome!

Welcome to our blog! We voted and picked a name, so now it’s time to start a blog. We are the Willamette Piece Makers! where little stitches can make big projects 🙂

This will be a place where we can share our projects and all we’re doing at our meetings with the world.
